WHAT A FANTASTIC FINALE
Brooke and Andrea certainly made their presence felt at the Waitemata World Cup Showjumping Show at Woodhill Sands. Waitemata held the final of the New Zealand World Cup Series, and with points and a half on offer, it certainly had everything to play for.
Brooke rode Andrea to perfection in the first round, coming home with a super clear - one of only two clears in the first round, with the second coming from Nakeysha Lammers aboard Resolution. The second round saw nine combinations coming back to challenge the title. Of those nine, four went clear in the second round.
The pressure was all on Brooke who was last to go - jumping a clear meant she would take home the win. Brooke came into the ring on the beautifully presented Andrea, focusing on the sound advice from husband Oliver who simply said "don't stuff it up"! Well she took those words seriously and guided Andrea around the tough track to claim the only double clear and take home the win. This fantastic win also bumped the pair up to take 2nd place overall in the World Cup Series. Congratulations to Tegan Fitzsimon and Windermere Cappuccino who won the series, taking only 1 rail over the 8 rounds they jumped.
